**Option to participate in the Wheelchair For a Day program – A student or faculty member will be given the unique opportunity of spending a day in a wheelchair. DGF will provide the school with a manual wheelchair for this exercise. The experience is designed to demonstrate the everyday hardships that people in wheelchairs encounter and encourage students to take all necessary precautions to prevent them from ending up in a similar situation. The participant is encouraged to use a video camera to record their time in the wheelchair so their experience can be shown to other students. DGF can provide a video that a previous student produced during his time in the Wheelchair For a Day program as an example of how compelling this message can be.
