Darrell Gwynn Foundation.
Palm Beach, Florida., - March 22,
2006- The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company will auction a 450 horsepower
small block Chevy 383 stroker V8 donated by the Engine Factory during the 4th
Annual Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction scheduled from March
30, 2006- April 1, 2006. The engine will be auctioned on Saturday April 1,
2006, Lot # 5000.1 at approximately 2:45pm. All proceeds from the sale of
the engine will be donated to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation.
"The heart of every collector car, whether
it's a 1960s muscle car or a classic European exotic, is the power plant,"
said Craig Jackson, president of Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. "Engine
Factory is known worldwide for building outstanding motors for a variety of
vehicles. We're pleased they will again participate in this year's Palm
Beach Auction and generously donate all proceeds from this sale to Darrell
Gwynn's charity. The seller's commission and entry fee will also be waived."
The 383 Chevy Stroker contains parts from
some of the most respected companies across the nation. Some of the
specialized parts includes an Eagle crankshaft, Federal-Mogul pistons,
Edelbrock roller camshaft, E-Tec 200 cylinder heads, an 800 cfm carburetor,
an Air Gap Polished intake manifold, MSD distributor, Zoops serpentine belt
system with alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor.
"This engine is tuned for maximum
performance," said Engine Factory owner Bruce Nelson. "Peak power is upwards
of 450, with legendary Chevy reliability that will keep the horses flowing
for many years. The Barrett-Jackson bidders appreciate the importance of a
good motor; with the small block crossing the block for charity, we are
expecting the enthusiasm levels to be extremely high and to exceed last
years bid of $15,000."
The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction is
scheduled for Thursday, March 30 to Saturday, April 1st, 2006, at
the South Florida Expo Center. This year's event will include over 500
